Our Roots

On 6/2/02 Brad Beckerman was pronounced "dead at the scene" of an accident. After resuscitation and emergency brain surgery with six titanium plates, he remained in a coma for 13 days. Over the next 3.5 years he underwent four more surgeries and many years of strenuous cognitive and physical therapies. While adhering to a strict vegan diet as part of the healing process, he sought alternative treatments. His journey took him to Asia. While in India, he was treated by the world famous Dr. Issac Mathai at his ayurvedic center called Soukya. While there he had a drink of West Indian Sea Moss made by a Jamaican chef. The drink gave him strength, stamina and energy. With his general understanding of West Indian drinks, he added his own special formula of herbs, roots and spices that utilized the best of Eastern and Western Indian ingredients to make what is now known as Bradford Tonic (B-Tonic). The B-Tonic was the most helpful remedy for his miracle recovery.

After successful private client sales in New York City, Brad moved to South Florida and created Bradford Tonic, Inc. in 2006. He also developed two more healthy drinks; B-Sorrel and B-Ginger.

He introduced these Caribbean drinks to the Regional Grocery Coordinator and Merchandiser of Whole Foods Market in Florida; they were impressed and wanted the drinks in their stores. The drinks launched very successfully in September, 2007 and are now in all of the Whole Foods stores in the Florida Region, some other strategic locations and online at DeliciousOrganics.com.

We will be expanding to other regions of the country. In order to transcend into this larger arena, Brad recruited his father, Arthur, to be President of the company and a partner, to assist him with this growth. Arthur was a principal in the real estate industry in New York City and South Florida. He has been intimately involved with the growth of several companies. Additionally, we are a family owned and operated company.

The non-carbonated beverage world is very competitive. However, we believe our ability to explain the genesis of our products (their history, cultural significance, healing powers and Brad's personal experience with their life enhancing qualities) will allow us to maintain a competitive advantage with the introduction of the beverages to a national audience. We are establishing our brand and becoming a household name in Florida; we strongly believe that we will be a household name on a global level.
